About cerebral amyloid angiopathy

I specialize in caring for patients with cerebral amyloid angiopathy and related diseases.  Cerebral amyloid angiopathy is a disease of the small blood vessels of the brain that causes them to become fragile.  This can cause patients to have bleeding in the brain, problems with their memory and/or transient spells of various neurological symptoms.

We work with our neuropsychologists to provide memory testing and our neuroradiologists to provide advanced neuroimaging to provide you with the highest confidence in diagnostic testing.

We coordinate with other specialists to ensure the risk of intracerebral hemorrhage is as low as possible; this includes expert management of high blood pressure and non-anticoagulant management of atrial fibrillation (including left atrial appendage closure).

We treat also memory disorders, coordinate driving safety testing and can help coordinate in-home care.  We aim to provide comprehensive support to our patients contending with cerebral amyloid angiopathy.
